Acid Salt is a fluid art collective, founded by Angela Donskaia, Jan Johan Draaistra and Hedwich Rooks, aiming to connect and equalize artistic practices as multi-sensorial events in accessible spaces. "In its boundary-pushing and discipline-merging work, neo-aesthetic collective Acid Salt creates not 360-degree experiences but, in its own words, “370-degree experiences” Initiated by a group of creatives looking to push the ways in which we perceive art with all our senses, projects and pieces by the group are sensory artworks specifically curated to uplift one another. There is no specific style or approach, but instead a consistent want to combine strong and soft elements and “reach for shared sensory electricity”.
The founders believe it is essential to "find pleasure and appreciation in a nonconventional way of experiencing art. Not perceive it as pure aesthetics, but truly take home more profound memories and emotions that are enhanced by all the artistic elements working together, intuitively."
Acid Salt is founded in 2018 with its first event taking place in that same year at Sexyland Amsterdam, featuring Ludo & Hedo, Annabel van Royen, Hedwich Rooks, Louisiana van Onna, Angela Donskaia, Sophia Seawell, Jan Johan Draaistra, Renate van der Togt, Alex Rigby, DJ Serko, Itai Verhoek, Salty Gal and Satoshi Yamamura. The second event took place in 2021 at murmur Noord featuring Margot Domart, Philipp Groubnov, Hedwich Rooks, Annija Muižule, Angela Donskaia, Thom van Hoek, Jan Johan Draaistra, Hannah Pezzack & Elina Tapio, DJ Serko and Cal Swingler.
